  5. R.O.A.R LOCKER ROOM EXPECTATIONS • Be on time • Get dressed and get out of the locker room quickly • Proper behavior is expected at all times • Handle only your property • Use appropriate tone of voice

  6. LOCKER ROOM CONT. • Enter the locker room through the designated doors only. • Enter the Gymnasium through the doors nearest gym “A” • Exit the locker room through the designated doors only, do not use emergency exits.

  7. LOCKER ROOM • Use the bathroom before or after class • No food, drink, glass, or aerosol containers allowed at any time • No cameras or cell phones allowed at any time • Please don’t hang out in the locker room • Please use deodorant and good hygiene • Please keep the locker room clean • Please return all rental uniforms • Please lock up all of your belongings and don’t share your locker combinations with anyone

  8. LOCKS • Each student will be issued a Woodland Middle School lock at the beginning of the year • The lock combination and serial number should be written either in an assignment notebook or on the back of your id card

  9. LOCK USAGE • Spin the dial a few times to the right in order to clear it. • Land on your first number • Spin the dial in the opposite direction to the left passing your number once, then landing on it • Spin in the opposite direction again, this time to the right, and land directly on your last number • (RIGHT – LEFT – RIGHT)

  10. LOCK USAGE CONT. • Be sure your lock is locked at all times • Spin the dial a couple of times and pull down to be sure that your lock is properly secured • PE locks must stay in the PE locker rooms at all times • Leave your lock in the hole on the bottom of your locker to minimize the chance of you losing your lock

  11. REPLACEMENT LOCKS • If you lose your lock, please check with the PE staff in your locker room as soon as possible (locks are found on a daily basis) • A new lock can be purchased for $5.00 from any teacher in the PE office • Any non-issued locks will be cut off the lockers

  12. LOCKERS • You will be assigned a small locker to keep all your PE supplies! • While in PE class you will use the big locker that corresponds with the number of your small locker! • Ex. (small locker 147-3 would use the big locker that is numbered 147)

  13. LOCKERS CONT. • Each period a different student will use the big locker • Any lock or materials left in a big locker after class will be taken out and put in the lost and found • Respect the lockers and don’t slam, bang, or hang on them at any time

  14. UNIFORMS • A PE uniform is required for participation • Uniform price: $10 for the shirt & $10 for the shorts • Please put only your last name in the box provided on the uniform • No nicknames, slogans, or drawings of any kind will be allowed

  15. UNIFORMS • No sagging of your shorts at any time • Uniform must be neat and clean • No putting the waist strap over your head • No rolling the waistband • No jewelry • You must wear your own uniform with your name on it

  16. UNIFORMS CONT. • You must have proper gym shoes and they must be tied properly • Socks are required at all times • Uniforms must be taken home on Friday, washed and brought back on Monday

  17. PE RENTAL UNIFORM • If you need a rental uniform, as soon as you enter the locker room go to the PE office • A rental uniform must be worn unless a medical excuse permits otherwise • A rental is loaned by giving an ID or the shirt or shoe worn to school • After the return of the rental, the ID or item will be given back to the student • The students grade will be affected each time a rental is needed

  19. MEDICALS • A parents note will allow you to miss 1-3 days • A doctors note is required to miss more then 3 days • Notes must be taken to the nurse before school

  20. MEDICALS CONT. • Any student out for an extended period of time will be required to do an assignment to supplement the work being missed • Any student with a “NO PE” excuse will not dress and may be sent up to the LRC to do assignments

  21. PHYSICAL EDUCATIONTESTS • Tests will be taken on-line • Tests will be immediately graded • Use your resources and learn the material • Tests will be done on your own time • Use your computer, WMS library, public library, friends computer, neighbors computer, see your teacher if extra help is needed

  22. GRADES • Grades are based on an activity rubric and a cognitive assessment • Each teacher will explain their grading rubric in the beginning of the year

  23. GRADES CONT. • Sportsmanship, attitude, encouragement, safety, and positive attitude are very important in being successful in class • Following rules, participation, enthusiasm, and attendance is also very important • Fitness testing will take place in the fall and spring season each year

  24. THE PE DEPARTMENT IS LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER FUN AND EXCITING YEAR! FOLLOWING ALL THE DIRECTIONS AND RULES WILL ENSURE FOR A SAFE AND FUN LEARNING ENVIRONMENT
