Trauma center for aiding accident victims on National Highways 8 and 8A in Gujarat. Initiated by Lifeline Foundation under Dr. Subrato Das, leading emergency rescue operations with Axis Bank's support. Services include victim evacuation, ambulance support, medical assistance, and capacity building. Since June 21, 2005, saved 33 lives through 22 calls with 14 hospital partners.

Highway Trauma Care Centre in Gujrat • Lifeline Foundation, started under innovative initiative of Dr. Subrato Das • Pioneered emergency rescue operations in Gujarat on a stretch of 488 KM s on the National Highway no 8 and 175 KM s on the National Highway 8A. • Axis Bank, supported the in running Highway Trauma Car under its CSR initiatives • Persons affected by motor accidents on these stretch of national highways are provided services covering • Evacuation of accident victims, • Services of ambulances, cranes and metal cutters, • Reaching victims to the nearest medical centre, • Providing assistance for medical, legal and police related problems, • Arrangement of blood etc. • Capacity building of the local population like the highway toll tax plaza attendants, villagers, petrol pump attendants, doctors, paramedics and police for extending support in such emergency operations. • Started on the 21st June 2005, 22 numbers of calls and saving 33 lives (till August 2005)14 hospitals and ambulance providers are associated as partners in this network.
