South London ATM Application Process • SGS, SESA, KSS – combined advanced training wide number of options • Posts are either 6 months or 12 months long • The posts will be advertised to all eligible ST5+ trainees through the school administrators on the 1st September 2019 • Apply one year in advance of starting ST6 • Applying for posts in Aug 2020 and Feb 2021

  17. Application Timeline • Trainees can apply for a maximum of 2 posts. • Trainees must submit: • The training application form • A curriculum vitae • 2 supporting statements, 1 for each post they wish to apply for (maximum 250 words) • Closing date is 30th September 2019

  18. Application Timeline • October-December: Module directors will review CVs and statements. Interviews will also take place during this time, if applicable. • TPD’s will allocate trainees to posts. • January 2020: Trainees informed of allocations and asked to confirm their acceptance. • The timeline and application process will be included in the ATM booklet. This will be sent out to all eligible trainees and will be on our website.

  20. Application Process • Favourable factors:  • Well presented and structured CV • Detailed statement that highlights: Evidence of interest in chosen ATM – related CPD, conferences, projects, courses on statements. • +/- Interview

Interview Questions • Why do you want to do the module? • Review of CV, logbook, experience (if any) • Discuss a project that you would like to start/continue when you take up your place in your chosen module • Discuss a critical incident that you are aware of/have been involved in and reflect on the wider learning benefit of the incident • Recent relevant paper and how it has changed your practice (module relevant) • How do we know you are a good doctor? • QI / Audit you are most proud of and how it has changed your department?

  30. PLAN • PLAN is a trainee collaborative group which aims to deliver high quality large scale quality improvement and research across London. Core Values • PLAN aims to produce high quality, trainee-led audit, quality improvement and research projects in perioperative, critical care and pain medicine across London. • We aim to engage trainees in all parts of the management and implementation of the projects. • We aim to collaborate with other regional networks in order to produce nationwide audit and research. • We aim to adhere to all aspects of Good Clinical Practice in our design, methodology, data collection and in the dissemination of our results. • We aim to publish our projects with every member gaining authorship recognition.
