In his distinguished time in Boston as a police officer, he has earned a reputation for excellent community policing. After that he returned to Boston to join the police force as a member of the Youth Violence Strike Force where he used his skills communicating with children to diffuse many dangerous situations. Able to Reach Troubled Youth Mel Steele of Boston received a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Delaware and went to work at the New Castle County Detention Center in Delaware because he wanted to use his degree to help people, not just study them.
