MAGNET BEYOND AND PERSONAL NETWORKS A Personal Network (PN) is a new paradigm extending the concept of a Personal Area Network (PAN), to allow users secure access to all their personal devices and services regardless of geographical location PN devices can be separated by hundreds of kilometers, and still belong to the same PN PNs encompass all connection technologies, short and medium range radio, infrastructure wireless networks or any future broadband wireless technology PN User Private PAN PNs represent a potential mass market for short range wireless personal sensor devices J.
