  4. Escher’s father, George Escher, was an engineer famous as a foreign advisor for the Japanese from 1873 to 1878. Son père, George Escher, était un ingénieurconnucommeconseillerétranger pour les Japonais de 1873 à 1878.

  5. Escher was a sickly child who failed many subjects. Escher était un enfant malade qui a raté beaucoup des sujets.

  6. In 1913 he attended a religious school, even though he was not very religious, where he learned to cut wood. En 1913 ilestallé en cours à uneécolereligieux, quoiqu’ilnétait pas trèspieux, oùil a appris de la gravure du bois.
