  1. Welcome to Farmor’s School Sixth Form For the official opening of our new Learning Resource Centre On Tuesday 25th February at 10.45am

  2. March 2013 – news that our bid to the Education Funding Agency (EFA) was successful and therefore building could go ahead…….. So our retiring Headteacher, Anne Stokes and Matthew Evans – the new man in charge from September 2013 did the honours……….. And the ‘first turf’ was cut during the Summer term of 2013 in readiness for the work starting in July…..

  3. The building based on plans drawn up by DSC Consultants in May 2012, prior to our bid being submitted, was finally coming to fruition

  4. And so the holidays started in July 2013 and work on the LRC began in earnest carried out by Snape Construction Ltd under the supervision and guidance of DSC Consultants. Thanks to both parties for their help in making the process pain-free

  5. The Sixth Form spaces were completely remodelled during the summer too. New lighting, blinds, colour co-ordinated seating and cafe style tables and chairs plus vending machines were also introduced At the same time as this work was taking place, our own Site Team carried out an extensive refurbishment of the rooms in English, Drama and Music

  6. October 2013 and the progress of the building work was plain to see. Here you see the main LRC building plus the mezzanine area………..

  7. December 2013 – just before the Christmas break and one month before the occupants moved into the LRC. Prospective Sixth Form students were given the opportunity to take a look inside the building at the Sixth Form Open Evening – so many positive comments were received during and following the event and these were reflected in the number of applicants this year……

  8. February 2014 – Students have moved into the LRC along with members of staff including Rachel Mehtar, Sixth Form Administrator. The exams office team members Rachael Mundy and Nikki Clark have an office in the LRC also

  9. Many Thanks to Dr Ian Davis – Polar Explorer, for agreeing to officially open our Learning Resource Centre Tuesday 25thFebruary 2014
