  2. Definition: Genre of popular and traditional, typical of the United States. Characteristics: The typical instruments of country music are: voice, the guitar, the bass, the violin and the banjo.

  3. HISTORY Is a musical style emerged in the 20s in rural areas of South America. Originally combined the folk music of some European countries of immigrants, mostly Irish, with other musical forms entrenched in America, like the blues and the spiritual and religious music as gospel. The term country began to be used in the 50's to the detriment of the word hillbilly, that was how it was known until then.

  4. ORIGINS Origins: American folk Early twentieth century in the eastern United States (in Tennessee, in West Virginia and in Kentucky).

  5. Bands and Singers The Carter Familiy It was a country music group that recorded between 1927 and 1956. Their music had a profound impact on bluegrass, country, southern gospel, pop and rock musicians as well as on the U.S. folk revival of the 1960s. They were the first vocal group to become country music stars. The most famous song was Wabash Cannonball. The components of the group were: Alvin Pleasant “A.P”, Delaney Carter , her wife Sarah Dougherty Carter and Maybelle Adington Carter.

Countrypop You can hear today all sorts of variants of the country, which is combined with rock, and more recently with pop, is the most successful to the general public has little understanding. This was intended that more country singers in pop music success and sell more albums. With roots in both the countrypolitan sound and soft rock is a subgenre of country music that emerged in the 1970s.
