  2. Changes in current versions • many editorial changes • Technical changes • Manyfolks: clarified procedures when neither endpoint can guarantee a “sendrecv” precondition. • Arch and Proxy-proxy: removed use of Also/Replace headers and switched to Refer. • (FYI) DCS System specification available on web • http://www.softarmor.com/sipwg/drafts/dcsdraft2.pdf • ftp://ftp.cablelabs.com/pub/ietfdocs/dcsdraft2.pdf

  3. Draft-ietf-sip-manyfolks-resource-00 • First round-trip: establish agreement on the preconditions • example: mandatory sendrecv • Problem: neither endpoint can independently guarantee bi-directional (“sendrecv”) qos/security of the connection - it requires cooperation of both • Solution: • UAC requests “mandatory sendrecv” • UAS knows it needs help, so responds “mandatory sendrecv confirm” • UAC/UAS do whatever they can individually • UAC sends COMET indicating “success sendonly” • UAS combines this with its status (qos achieved for its sendonly path), and recognizes “sendrecv” is achieved • UAS continues with session establishment

  4. Sample Invite Sequence, with Resource Reservation UAC PROXY PROXY UAS O T INVITE(w/qos) INVITE(w/qos) INVITE(w/qos) 183 Session-Progress 183 Session-Progress 183 Session-Progress PRACK 200 OK (of PRACK) RSVP-PATH RSVP-RESV (Reservation) COMET 200 OK (acknowledging COMET) RSVP-PATH RSVP-RESV (Reservation) 180 Ringing Rings phone.

  5. Draft-ietf-sip-manyfolks-resource-00 • Depends on 2543bis (183 response) • Includes references to all other dcsgroup drafts • Proposed next steps: • Wait for 2543bis • Working Group Last Call • Package together with other dcs drafts and submit to RFC editor together • Less-preferred alternative, remove interlocking references and submit separately

  6. Draft-ietf-sip-privacy-00 • Updated the impact of full privacy on other SIP headers at UA • Updated the impact of full privacy on other SIP headers at Proxy • Depends on 2543bis (183 response) • Includes references to manyfolks and all other dcsgroup drafts • Proposed next steps: • Add procedures for Via/Record-Route/Route hiding • Wait for 2543bis • Working Group Last Call • Package together with manyfolks and other dcs drafts and submit to RFC editor together • Less-preferred alternative, remove interlocking references and submit separately

  7. Draft-ietf-sip-state-00 • Forgotten update: change of “host” to “hostport” in syntax • Depends on 2543bis (183 response) • Includes references to manyfolks and all other dcsgroup drafts • Proposed next steps: • Wait for 2543bis • Working Group Last Call • Package together with manyfolks and other dcs drafts and submit to RFC editor together • Less-preferred alternative, remove interlocking references and submit separately

  8. Draft-ietf-sip-call-auth-00 • minor editorial changes only, no technical changes • Depends on 2543bis (183 response) • Includes references to manyfolks and all other dcsgroup drafts • Proposed next steps: • Wait for 2543bis • Working Group Last Call • Package together with manyfolks and other dcs drafts and submit to RFC editor together • Less-preferred alternative, remove interlocking references and submit separately

  9. Draft-dcsgroup-sip-arch-03 • Changed call flow diagrams and detailed message flows for Call Transfer cases to use REFER • Targeted as Informational RFC • Depends on 2543bis (183 response) • Includes references to manyfolks and all other dcsgroup drafts • Proposed next steps: • Wait for 2543bis • Package together with manyfolks and other dcs drafts and submit to RFC editor together • Less-preferred alternative, remove interlocking references and submit separately

  10. Draft-dcsgroup-sip-proxy-proxy-02 • Targeted as informational RFC • Reference document for IANA registration of header names • Depends on 2543bis (183 response) • Includes references to manyfolks and all other dcsgroup drafts • Proposed next steps: • Wait for 2543bis • Package together with manyfolks and other dcs drafts and submit to RFC editor together • Less-preferred alternative, remove interlocking references and submit separately
