  1. Domestic Flight Operations Will Be Resumed From 16th of May

  2. It now seems that the things are getting normal with each passing day. Though the pandemic is still wreaking havoc on the European countries, the situation in Asian and Arabian countries is relatively better. The death rate in these countries is quite low, and the level of disruption is also not catastrophic. So, the governments in these countries have started easing the lockdown restrictions so that people could resume their day-to- dayactivities. In Pakistan, government has lifted the bans and imposed a partial lockdown. As per the recentannouncements, peoplecandotheir business from MondaytoThursday.Theyare allowed to open their shops from 9:00 Am to 5:00 PM. But, no business is allowed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, because doing so might increase the number of cases in Pakistan. So, keeping the decision of partial lockdown in mind, government has allowed PIAandSereneAir to resume theirdomestic flightoperations.

  3. Resumption Schedule: The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan has announced that the domestic flights of two airlines would be resumed from May 16. The spokesperson of CAA has recently briefed the media. He said that the domestic flight of Pakistan International Airlines and SereneAir wouldoperate inthe morningsandafternoons.

  4. Total Number of Resumed Flights by Airports: The CAA officials have also notified the people on the statuses of different airports. In addition, all the airports have been advised to comprehensively cater to the needs of the passengers.   6. Conclusion: It is worth noting that the government of Pakistan extended the suspension of domestic and international flights in April. The decision was taken in line with the national plan to counter the spread of COVID-19. However, Pakistan resumed some special flights during that period to repatriate the stuck Pakistani nationals. The government officials are expecting that all the domestic and international flights will be resumed once the effects ofpandemic subside.
