That's why the Swat Saidu Sharif Airport was scaled down. But now the area's situation is entirely under control, and the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) of Pakistan has decided to upgrade the airport to make it operational once again.

  5. Abdullah Hafeez, the PIA spokesperson (Pakistan International Airlines), said that the airline is planning to operate a couple of flights from Islamabad to Swat (Saidu SharifAirport) each week. It means that you now will be able to take your affordable flights with PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) to Swat. The spokesperson also said that not only will it facilitate the people, but it will also promote tourism in the whole country.

The officials have also reported that the PIA has already informed the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) about this plan. It will be carried out as soon as the Saidu Sharif Airport goes operational. Moreover, the list of flights will also be shared after that for the flights for Swat.

The CAA officials have reported that some construction and maintenance work is yet to be carried out in Swat airport, and as soon as that is finished, the airport will start its regular operation. The officials have also said that they are also working on the other closed airports as only 27 are operational currently out of 44. The 11 of them are closed, and six of them have been scaled down.
