Painters paint photographers

The history of photography is intimately linked to that of painting: it was invented by painters, for painters, who conceived the idea from the 15th century to provide ever more satisfactory solutions to the problems posed by painting as a representation of the real world on a flat surface, in particular the problem of perspective.
