Tasmania is an island, the Australia's least populous state, with 569,825 residents as of December 2021. The Tasmanian devil (Sarcophilus harrisii) is a carnivorous marsupial of the family Dasyuridae now found in the wild only in the Australian island state of Tasmania.

  2. Cradle Mountain national park

  3. Lake St.Clair lays in the southern part of the Cradle Mountain - Lake St.Clair National Park, which is declared the World Heritage Area

  4. The glacier-formed lake St.Clair is located 737 m above the sea level and, being 167 m deep, is the deepest lake in Australia

  5. There are several walking trails along the shores of the lake, ranging from 40 minutes to a full day

  6. Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania's best-known national park has spectacular mountain peaks, deep gorges, lakes and wild moorlands. It's one of the areas affected most by glacial activity in Australia.

  7. A pantheon of dolerite mountains – Mt Olympus, Mt Orthys, Mt Byron and Mt Ida surround Lake St Clair

  8. Frenchmans Cap is a prominent mountain in the Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park, Western Tasmania, Australia

  9. It lies east of the West Coast Range, and south-west of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park

  10. It was well known to Aborigines, and one of its names was Mabarlek

The distinctive shape of the mountain was used as a guiding beacon by many, largely unsuccessful, parties of escaping convicts as they attempted to struggle through the dense scrub of Western Tasmania to the settled districts further east. It was mentioned as a geographical reference in the account later dictated by convict Alexander Pearce to authorities, following his capture

  14. Devils @ Cradle Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary

  15. Devils @ Cradle is a wildlife sanctuary for Tasmanian devil breeding, located beside the main access road to Cradle Mountain National park, just a kilometer from the main gate

  16.  The Devils @ Cradle Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary protects this unique species as well as the Eastern Quoll and Spotted-tail Quoll, other carnivorous marsupials.

  19. Queenstown is the Largest town on Tasmania's West Coast, and is the home of the Mt Lyell Mining & Railway Company and the West Coast Wilderness Railway, and has several Wilderness walks in the area as well as great Trout Fishing in several surrounding Lakes.

  20. The historic Hunters Hotel on Orr Street in Queenstown. The population of around 2500 people are mostly employed in the mining industry in the nearby mines

  22. Strahan Harbor and Risby Cove form part of the north-east end of Long Bay on the northern end of Macquarie Harbor Strahan

  23. From its beginnings as the location for bushmen seeking precious Huon pine, Strahan became the railway port for a rich copper mine inland. Deep in Macquarie Harbour south of Strahan, a notorious convict settlement was established on Sarah Island
