  1. Rotational molding is a manufacturing process using a rotational molding machine and is used for thermoplastic materials that allow hollow items to be fabricated of any size or shape. It's a technology that is different from conventional blow and injection molding process and is certainly suited for use in the production of small series of item, even geometrically complicated ones, especially of large size and hollow objects which are impossible to fabricate otherwise.

  2. This process began to be used typically for containers, taking advantage of the fact that hollow items could be produced without needing to assemble or weld. The following are the main advantages of the rotational molding process.

  3. Maximum versatility. Because of its possibility of obtaining an item of different shapes and sizes from the machine simultaneously. - Complex shaped items can be molded in one piece while maintaining the consistency of wall thickness. - An unlimited design field for the item to be produced. Just think of the shape of any formed recipient or container. - Small initial investment compared with the productive capacity available. - It has a low cost of moulds and reduced management costs. - Items of different thickness can be produced simultaneously. - Limited wastage. It has an almost exact correspondence between the quantity of material needed and that utilized. Their residues of work originate from the removal and trimming of a certain attachment.

  4. Materials and colors can be changed promptly. - Mandatorily inclusion of plastic, rubber, and metal parts. - The low pressures used and reduced speed of rotation minimizes the wear of the molds and moving parts. - Double wall items can be produced.

  5. The following are examples of the applications specification for rotational molding. • Containers for foodstuffs and agricultural produce. -Storage tanks, drums, and vats for dairies and the ice cream industry. -Isothermal containers with double walls for ready to eat foodstuffs, fish products, coconut oil, shelled nuts, and frozen foods. • Installations and industrial services. -Meters for water treatment. -Insulated elements for sound proofing machinery and plant. • Transport and road signs. -Air conveyors and other under bonnet accessories -Body parts for camper derived vehicles, ambulances, etc. -Tanks for water and sanitary installation in caravans and mobile homes.

  6. General applications for various manufacturing industry. -Large diameter cable rollers. -Protective shielding of mechanical transmissions. -Shaped tanks for lubricating oils and miscellaneous liquid • Sailing and ports. -Multiple life belts, and containers for life boats. -Jetties, rafts, and floating collars. -Rowing boats and outboards.
