2. 2 MICHAEL KERN Introducing Drukpa UK Drukpa UK is a charitable organisation under the guidance of H.H. the Gyalwang Drukpa and is part of an international network of organisations. Drukpa UK was established to support Buddhists and non-Buddhists on a quest of compassion, bringing peace and happiness to all human beings in the modern age. The Drukpa Lineage by H.H. Gyalwang Drukpa. Live to Love provides a range of services in education, healthcare, heritage, environment and disaster aid, and relief on an international basis to all, regardless of race, gender or reli- gious beliefs. The 800-year history of the Drukpa lineage is the inspiration behind Drukpa UK, preserving traditions and promoting Buddhist teachings and pilgrimages for anyone. Facilities are provided for Drukpa lineage prac- titioners and Buddhist studies and practices are supported. The Drukpa Trust started the Druk Pema Karpo School in Ladakh in In- dia, designed to make education ac- cessible to local children and provide sponsorship and boarding facilities for children from the poorest back- grounds and the most remote areas.
