  3. Tmt bars • These TMT steel bars are typically used as building materials to provide protection against earthquake and other types of natural disasters. TMT stands for Thermo Mechanical Treatment, a thermomechanical technique. First, the Fe415 Grade of the TMT bar, which was widely used for building reasons, was released in 1979. Without the use of any additional tools, the Fe 415 is extremely flexible and can be bent into any shape. One can select one of the subtypes, Fe 415S or Fe 415D, depending on their needs. • By quenching low-cost low carbon steel, a high strength bar is created. The procedure cools the bar's surface layer, pressurizes and distorts the intermediate layers' crystal structure, and concurrently starts to warm up the quenched layers with heat from the core of the bar. • With a temperature gradient running through its cross section, the bar emerges from the quench box. The bar's heat and pressure properly temper an intermediate ring of martensite and bainite as it cools because heat moves from the bar's center to its surface.Finally, the austenitic core on the cooling bed is automatically tempered to ferrite and pearlite by the slow cooling that occurs after quenching.
