After the ridotto, Raoul met Christine again, and he was told not to make any attempt to find out these puzzles. They only had a month to stay together because Raoul had to go to North Pole. But just because everything was so sweet that he didn’t want to leave. This action made Christine tell Raoul everything about the Angel of Music and where she was taken by the “Angel”(Opera ghost) and what he had done to her. She felt so scared. Then they decided to elope. But things didn’t go so smoothly. Christine disappeared. The managers’ strange acts. 7. After reading - - 瑞慈 After reading this book , “ The phantom of the opera “ , I really feel that we can not judge people from their appearances . Because I think it still happens a lot in our society . There are many people don’t have any merit but their appearances , and they always use this shallow merit to hurt those who are not good - looking . Moreover , we should develop our inner beauty and talents in hiding of us . And besides , we must look people inside , the kindness , pureness deep in their heart and remember that everybody in this world is unique and special .

  8. After reading - - 珮筠 Eric ,how poor a man he is ! Because he was born with a terrible face 、no nose and yellow eyes , he had to hide .His unfortunate mother gave birth to him , but she didn`t care for him and never kissed him. As result of his growing background,It caused him strange personality . Although he sang beautifully、practiced ventriloquism and performed unbelievable tricks ,his heart was still full of sorrow and longed for love from people.Until he met Christine , he realized what love is. I really feel that we should not judge a person by his appearance. Because everyone has a talent which doesn`t depend on whether you are pretty or not. As long as you have bright heart to face everyday, you can make the world more beautiful. I think the story is not only a romantic tragedy but also a marvelous classics. It is really amazing!!!

  9. After reading - - 薏蘋 After reading this story, I think that a beautiful mind is more important than a beautiful appearance. Like the opera ghost-Erik who had a face so ugly and so pale was born on a love shortage family. Because he was born with a terrible face- no nose, yellow eyes-that he hade to hide. His all family members including his most close mother all disliked him. In fact, he was kindhearted. At first, he tried every way to make Christine promise to be his wife. Then, he tasted the happiness the world could offer and the acceptance from Christine. Finally, he agreed Christine to marry with the count-Raoul and wished them. Maybe he trusted everyone would accept him as Christine did, too. People always judge others by appearance not by internal. But a kind heart is more important than a beautiful face. Appearance can not represent anything, but a kindness is worth to respect.

  10. After reading - - 雯琳 The Phantom of the Opera﹐the best known work of Leroux’s , is a horror romance. The hero﹐Erik﹐who pretended that he was a real phantom﹐ was still a person who could sense . He utilized normal human feelings and physical theory cleverly to make the whole theatre fall into panic. His personality of being radical came from the exclusion of common people ﹐and his false pride came from the inferiority caused by others’ disdain.Having a poor appearance wasn’t his fault, I felt pity for poor﹐unhappy Erik!People usually judge a person by outward appearance﹐but who knows what bad plans others’ are thinking of inward under their good looks?

  11. After reading - - 玟君 I’ve heard the story before, but I didn’t know the detail. After I read it, I’m really touched. Erik learned how to love other people, Christine and Raoul were finally together. And when I read it, I can almost feel the horrible feeling. What makes Erik become such a tragic man? It’s his ugly face, the horrible outward appearance. He was treated like an animal (in the circus), a toy, even a ghost. We have to look people’s heart, not the outward appearances. But nowadays, the society is unfair for those people who are in inferior position. Christine is the one that I want to admire of. She sacrificed her freedom and marriage to save other people. Although she was afraid of Erik, she finally accepted Erik. She made him know what true love meant, and she gave him warmth. She changed Erik’s terrible personality. It’s touched that when Erik was going to die, he let Christine go. The words he said to the Persian made me feel of his genuine. Although “The Phantom of the Opera” has been referred to be a horror romance novel, but I think it’s more than just a horror romance novel. You can see both the bright side and the dark side of human beings. It’s really a marvelous novel

  12. After reading - - 詩穎 After I finished reading this book, I felt sorrowful. Poor Erik! Although he had many unordinary talents, he never felt happy live in this world. If he had an ordinary face, he must had succeed and known by everyone. But his terrible face only made him live alone and had no choice but hide him in order to escape people’s taunt.Maybe he wanted to be an ordinary people even if he had no talents. Human beings live in this world need others concern and love. There is exception. But Erik’s mother was cruel enough that she didn’t want to see Erik’s face and moreover she gave he a mask. How cruel she is. No wonder his personality is strange and sometimes doing some crazy thing. In this society, there are many similar situations with Erik’s. The man who has some defect maybe the boss will not hire him. But maybe the man has a very good talent and work very hard. We have to think it deeply.

  13. After reading - - 佳君 After reading the novel, I had a sense of loss. It’s not because the story wasn’t interesting. Actually, it’s just the opposite. The thrilling story attracted me very much. I felt just like to be in the story which is heartbreaking. Nobody is a real bad person in the story. It composed of some person who bumped into each other, understood each other, and felt sorry for each other. In other words, the story combines infinite tragedies into a great tragedy. What did Erik really want? He just wanted to live like everybody else. But only because of his horrible face, he was obliged to live as a mouse in the cellar and caused him to feel himself inferior all his life. What did he yearn for? Somebody loved him, understood him, and stayed with him simply. What’s wrong? …Although his dream came true by Christine, his end isn’t satisfactory. He let Christine and Raoul get together finally. At the same time, he just a weak, contented, and broken-hearted man. Just as what Christine said: 「Poor, unhappy Erik.」 How tragic it is! 「The poor, unhappy Erik. The phantom of the opera.」
