    2. Franke Undermount Kitchen Sinks are part of the Franke Kitchen System which are manufactured by Franke Holding AG. The company is largely based in Aarburg, Switzerland and have set up shop in over Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America.

    3. The company had its start with Hermann Franke who founded a metal sheet business in 1911 of the same name in Rorschach, Switzerland. He ventured into the manufacture of skylights, oven tops and dormer windows in the late 1920s and when the 1930s rolled around, he went to manufacturing his first nickeline sink but was later revised to a stainless steel sink.

    4. Unfortunately, Hermann Franke died shortly after on January 25, 1939 but his son, Walter, took over the management of the business. It definitely was not easy filling his father’s shoes especially since the Second World War made it difficult to acquire raw materials for manufacturing. However, with hard work and determination, Walter was able to expand the factory and started on manufacturing complete kitchen systems.

    5. It wasn’t long after that the construction industry began to improve and along with it, Franke became the go-to for quality and state of the art kitchen sinks. Franke Holdings expanded and ventured into Washroom and Sanitary equipment in the 1950s and by late 1950s, a whole division was created to handle Commercial Kitchen Equipments. The rest, as they say, is history.

    6. You might be wondering why Franke Undermount Kitchen Sinks are better than the other locally or internationally manufactured kitchen sinks. Aside from a century of experience they are better because – You get the best raw material available for all Franke Undermount Kitchen Sinks and it’s various kitchen systems.

    7. A Franke stainless steel undermount sink is different a regular stainless steel kitchen sink. After all, not all materials are created equal; not even stainless steel. For Franke stainless steel sinks, the gauge or thickness of the steel only ranges from 16 to 20 from a possible range of 8 to 30 with the lowest number being the thickness.

    8. The Franke stainless steel grade is fixed at 304 which is also the most popular kitchen sink grade for stainless steel. However, the average nickel content for this grade is 8 percent but Franke’s kitchen sinks contains at least 10 percent. The higher nickel content allows for more resistance against corrosion. It also has a high chromium content that helps make it resistant to corrosion.

    9. All Franke Undermount Kitchen Sinks are 100 percent recyclable which makes it very environment friendly. Moreover, it is also made from 70 recycled materials which means you are helping to save the environment with all the Franke Undermount Kitchen Sinks you buy.

    10. However, no matter the quality of the Franke Undermount Kitchen Sinks, it is inevitable that it will succumb to wears and tears from daily abuse. Nothing is ever indestructible. Hence, to ensure that your franke kitchen sinks will last you a long time, it is important to take into account its short care instructions.

    11. While although the Franke sinks are made from Type 304 stainless steel grades well and above the standard, it is still vulnerable to damages from abrasives, bleaches and chlorine cleaners. Truth be told that it can’t be helped to subject your Franke kitchen sink to strong cleaning chemicals but there are things you can do to minimize its damage.

    12. One such interference is to dilute these cleaning chemicals with running water. You need to also remember to rinse these Franke kitchen sinks thoroughly to remove any trace of these chemicals that will damage even the most popular kitchen sinks. Even the best kitchen sinks will suffer notable damage if routinely exposed to damaging cleaning chemicals so care is important for them to perform at its optimum.

    13. Ideally, you should never use chlorine based cleaners on a regular basis and steer clear of steel wool pads or rough sponges to minimize the damage on your Franke kitchen sink. You may want to opt for soft cloth or mild soap in cleaning your Franke Undermount Kitchen Sinks.
