Market dominance Market dominance is a measure of the strength of a brand, product, service, or firm, relative to competitive offerings Market dominance strategies Typically there are four types of market dominance strategies that a marketer will consider: • market leader • market challenger • market follower • market nicher.

Basic competitive strategies Michael porter suggested three strategies  • Cost leadership strategy: company works hard to achieve lowest production cost • Differentiation strategy: company works for creating a highly differentiated product • Focus strategy: company focuses on serving a few market segments well
