Understanding Ethnic Cultures in Bangladesh: A Comprehensive Training Module

This training program, organized by BCC and held at Sitakund Girls’ High School from July 13 to July 28, 2013, aims to educate participants about the ethnic communities in Bangladesh. Led by Uttam Kumar Biswas, Assistant Teacher (English), the course focuses on learning outcomes such as the identification of ethnic groups, their food, pastimes, and traditional practices like Jhum cultivation. Participants will engage in group discussions, individual assignments, and evaluations to deepen their understanding and appreciation of ethnic diversity.

  12. GROUP WORKS The ss will make several groups and discuss about – 1.What languages do the ethnic people speak? 2.What do the ethnic men and wemen wear ? 3.Where do they build their houses ?

  13. INDIVIDUAL WORKS The will ss write down the following questions 1. What is “Jhum Cultivation “ ? 2. Who makes the clothes for the tribal people? 3.What are the religions the ethnic people believe in ?

  14. EVALUATION • Tell the name of three ethnic group of Bangladesh. • What is the main food of them ? • What is “Jhum Cultivation” ?

  15. HOME TASKS By reading you will summarize the passage in around 50 words .
