    22. Ian Yems Some examples Christine's Chemistry clip Capacitor clip Note: If you hyperlink to a clip rather inserting, the movie player comes up which allows you to pause, rewind etc.

    23. Ian Yems Planning is the key Ask your self what learning experience do I wish to enhance? Is it a clip for revision? Is it to show something that the students will then do? Is it to focus on a certain aspect? Is it something which is not possible for the students to do? Who is doing the filming?

    24. Ian Yems Keep it short!

    25. Ian Yems Film your clip Mini tripods are very useful Do a practise clip first It is possible to chop the beginning and end off later using Microsoft Media Player, but it is quicker to start and stop the filming at the correct time.

    26. Ian Yems Transferring your clip Most cameras can be connected directly to a USB port on a PC BUT You will need to install the camera software on the PC which is often not possible at school or college USB card readers cost around 15 and are more likely to work. Remove the card from the camera and insert it into your card reader & then plug your card reader into the USB port. Using my computer (windows explorer) browse to the card drive, select your clip and click on edit-copy from the tool bar Paste the clip into your working folder

    27. Ian Yems Inserting your clip into PowerPoint Start a new PowerPoint or open an existing one. Save the PowerPoint in the same folder as the clip that you have transferred. Insert a new slide

    28. Ian Yems Inserting your clip into PowerPoint Decide on your slide layout Insert movie from file

    29. Ian Yems Inserting your clip into PowerPoint Browse to your file Click ok Decide whether you wish it to start automatically or not And thats it! Well not quite .. PowerPoint only links to file, it is not part of the PowerPoint, so if you save the PowerPoint to another location it will lose the link UNLESS ..

    30. Ian Yems Making your PowerPoint work! You use the pack and go option or the package for CD from the file menu. These options will keep your media clips together. Windows XP movie maker will let you edit clips and add titles.
