Our day begins immediately and any late arrivals disrupt the learning of not only your child but the other children as well. However, if something does come up and you are late bringing your child to school you must take them to the office. If there is a change in dismissal please email me the night before or call the office. PM must designate car rider or walker.
Breakfast/lunch • AM students will enter through the Agnew doors every day beginning at 8:30 am. They will be served (free) breakfast in the cafeteria. • PM students will enter through the Kindergarten doors and eat (free) lunch in the classroom. • Food will be offered to every child. If you do not want your child to eat at school you must communicate that with them. • A breakfast/lunch calendar will be emailed monthly via Mrs. O’Neill
Birthdays • Edible treats are not permitted. If you would like to send a non-food item you are welcome to but not required to do so.
Activity Fee • In Kindergarten we ask for a $10 activity fee to cover the pancake breakfast for our pancake party in December and pizza and craft for our 100th Day/Valentine’s Party in February. It makes it a bit easier to collect all of the money in the beginning of the school year at once instead of asking for it several times throughout the year.
Homework will begin in October. • Some will be sent home in book form to be kept at home and just send pages as they are due. • Weekly Homework Agenda (cover page) will be posted on my webpage. • Electronic copies of homework books will be posted on my webpage, should you need to print out additional copies. • Writing is challenging for beginning Kindergarteners. We do Kid Writing in Kindergarten. Be patient with your child and DO NOT spell words for them. Although, you may help your child sound out words. • Read daily with your child. • Practicing with your child is imperative to their success. Please complete homework with your child and practice the letters or numbers sent home if you see they need more practice. Practice word wall words. The better you child reads those the easier it will be for them to learn to read.
