In Mrs. Lucas's class, students are expected to be punctual, prepared, and responsible. Key guidelines include being respectful participants, submitting assignments on time, and maintaining a productive environment. Students are required to follow school rules, engage respectfully, and manage their time wisely to minimize homework. Absences should be managed by checking online resources and addressing missed work promptly, as no reminders will be given. Success depends on taking accountability for one's learning and making the most of class time.

What I Expect • Be on time • Be prepared • Have materials with you and know due dates. • Be a polite and positive participant • Don’t act like a moron. • Be productive • Turn in work on time, and always do your best. • Be an adult • Take responsibility for yourself.
General Rules • Follow school rules. • NO standing at the door at the end of class. • Clean up after yourself. • Don’t talk when someone else is talking. • Go to the bathroom at the beginning or the end of class – not in the middle. • Don’t treat me like I’m an idiot. • Don’t take advantage of being treated like an adult. • If you choose to sleep in class, you will receive a 0 for all work completed in class that day.
If you are absent … • Look online for what you missed. • Ask what you missed when you come back. • Make up what you missed and turn it in within a reasonable amount of time. • I treat you like adults, this means I will not come to you to tell you what you missed or to remind you to turn in make-up work.
Grading • I don’t give many tests, so they do not affect your grade very much. • The majority of your grade comes from in-class assignments. If you do not complete the in-class assignments, you will fail. • Homework is infrequent, so when I assign it, I expect it to be completed.
Make good use of class time • I almost always give you time in class to complete your work. If you do not take advantage of this time, you will have homework. • If you use your time wisely, you will not have homework.
