  2. July 13, 2014 • The Third Commandment calls us to keep the Sabbath holy. The Sabbath: • Was part of creation and was understood in the Bible as a day of renewingcovenant with God. • Was a day that was primarily dedicated to worship of God, and secondarily to rest from work and relaxation with one’s family.

  3. July 13, 2014 • Because of the Resurrection of Christ, Sunday is the day of Christian Sabbath. • The Christian Sabbath, Sunday, continues the themes of worship and rest. • We are obliged to make Sunday holy through participation in the Eucharist.

  4. July 13, 2014 • Because of the Resurrection of Christ, Sunday is the day of Christian Sabbath. • We are called to make Sunday a day of prayerfulreflection. • The Sunday celebration of the Eucharist is the extension of the celebration of Easter throughout the year.

  7. July 13, 2014 • Sunday is a time for rest and relaxation. • We should make time for meals, conversation and activities that deepen family life. • We should avoid making unnecessary demands on others that would hinder them from participating in the Lord’s Day.
