  3. Join The PTA • Help support our school by joining the PTA today for only $5.00 • The money will help to purchase supplies and other goodies for our school. • Also, PTA sponsors many of our school events like… The End of Year Reading Celebration

  4. School Hours are from 8:25 to 3:00 Bell to Bell instruction!

  5. Be sure to check your child’s agenda daily for homework, conduct grade, and upcoming events.

  6. Reading Book Logs • Third Graders are expected to read 30 chapter books for the year. • Please only record completed chapter books in the book log located in their homework folder. These will go home the 2nd week. • Book Logs will be collected at the end of each 9 weeks. • Be sure to send in your child’s Summer Book Log for credit.

  7. Transportation If the afternoon transportation changes for your child, we must have the change in writing.

  8. New Car Rider Dismissal Procedures • NBE will be using a staggered dismissal. • Kindergarteners dismiss at 2:40 • 1st & 2nd grade dismiss at 2:50 • 3rd, 4th, 5th dismiss at 2:55 • If you have more than one child, the younger child will dismiss using older siblings dismissal time. Please arrive at your designated time to help alleviate congestion in the car circle. Duval County Dismissal time is 3:00

  9. More Car Rider Changes • Parents must register their car and obtain an official New Berlin Car tag. • Your child will be assigned a number. • Car tags are available tonight in the cafeteria. Please register your car tonight.

  10. Other New Procedures • During dismissal from 2:35-3:00 the parking lots will be closed. • No early checkout after 2:15

  11. Lunch Money We encourage you to pay for your child’s lunch www.mylunchmoney.com Lunch is $1.50 Breakfast is $1.00 There is a small fee for this service.

  12. Ring-Side NewsNBE’s 3rd Grade Newsletter Introducing! Monday, the first edition of the Ring-Side News will be sent home. It will contain information about communication, classroom expectations and our 3rd grade web site: http://newberlinthirdgrade.wikispaces.com/

  13. Thank you for coming! • Don’t forget to register your car! Registration is in the cafeteria. • PTA will be here until 7:30 to register parents for PTA. It’s only $5.00. We would love to have 100% participation!
