A full renovation to match standards of nearby schools would cost approximately $16 million, while a new school is estimated at $23 million. Key considerations include the age of the existing building (1956), potential closure for renovations, and limited additional space. With an increasing student population and the potential for new land acquisition, this proposal aims to benefit DVES students while enhancing community property values and facilitating long-term growth in the district.

Wiese Property in Matamoras • Seller wants land used for a good cause • Does NOT include Dervend Circle houses • Listed 50 of approx. 64 acres for $1.5 million • Great parcel – flat; out of the 100-year flood plain • School design will fit beautifully on this parcel • Space for a second school if needed in future • Will allow us to stay in PlanCon cycle • Approx. 8 buses
