Out Of State Colleges/Universities?Things to consider… • Public: Tuition (Cost up to 2 X) • Private: No Additional Tuition • Add Cost for Travel Expenses • Possibility for WUE (Tuition = 140-150% of in-state) Example: “Amazing University” is $10,000, then your WUE rate would be $15,000 ($10,000 x 1.5). If you were paying full nonresident rate it would cost you $20,000, essentially you are saving $5,000 (equaling $20,000 - $15,000) per year. • Back-up Plan? • Websites: www.californiacolleges.edu www.princetonreview.com

WA Minimum College Admission Requirements2014 Grads and Beyond *CADR: College Academic Distribution Requirements Higher Education Coordinating Board • 4 credits in college-prep English • 3 credits math, including Adv. Algebra/Trig • Senior year math or completed Pre-Calculus • 2 credits lab science including one credit of algebra-based science (Chemistry or Physics)

Application • One Shot to turn in application • Requirements • Essay, Small Essays, Writing Prompts • Spelling is important! • Have someone edit • Transcript (submit with application & again once you graduate) • Letters of Recommendation • Independent University • Explaining personal issues that are not seen in transcript • Test Scores • USE A PROFESSIONAL EMAIL • Admissions offices will look at social media
