  3. OSD 3.9 User stories Sprint 1 : completed - I want to choose which client version to install during the reimage deployment of a manually captured Windows image - I want to capture and restore User definitions and data on bare metal targets - I want to specify custom client settings for Linux deployments - I want to edit disk partitions for Linux deployments on bare metal targets Sprint 2: completed - I want to deploy a captured Linux image on a target - I want to define network parameters for bare metal deployments 3

  4. Agenda Sprint 2 User stories and demos - I want to specify network configuration settings for Bare Metal targets of Windows and Linux deployments - I want to capture a Linux reference image to use for bare metal deployments - I want to deploy a captured Linux image to different targets • - Beta Program News 4

  5. How can I define target network configuration settings before a deployment?

  6. OSD 3.8: - you could set a computer prefix for the target hostname; - users could not set any network configuration parameters for bare metal targets. All deployed targets were automatically configured in dhcp. OSD 3.9: Now you can specify a hostname rule and choose the type of network configuration and related parameters.

  7. Hostname rule • You can specify a prefix and/or variables that will be substituted at deployment time. • Network Settings • Three possibilities: • Define network parameters in the Bare Metal profile wizard • 2) Define static network parameters using new task 354 (it requires the Management Extender for Bare Metal targets) • 3) Use a combination of both 1 and 2

  8. Allowed variables: IP MAC UUID SN AT BBSN

  9. Define network parameters in the Bare Metal profile wizard

  10. Task 354 Change Bare Metal Target Configuration Settings Use this task to define or remove static IP configuration for a single bare metal target

  11. Live Demo

  12. I want to capture a Linux reference image to use for bare metal deployments

  13. Fixlet 201 – Linux System Capture

  14. Fixlet 201 – Linux System Capture : output

  15. I want to deploy the captured Linux reference image on a different machine

  16. Importing captured Linux image in the image library

  17. Creating Bare Metal profile from linux captured image

  18. On the target...
