What is AMP? The Aid Management Platform (AMP) is a web based application tool designed to manage and coordinate the ODA Tanzania receives.
Data management Plan • In managing data, we have a guidance note which clarifies how AMP data is collected, entered, validated, and disseminated. Why do have the data management plan? • Helps both GoT and DPs to know exactly when to expect reports for their own analysis and planning • The guidance note should minimize the requests of information by the government to DPs, since all actors know what to expect and when.
Benefits • Manage aid data; • Harmonize aid activities with national planning objectives; • Create reports; • Manage documents electronically etc
Key Challenges • Timely updating of data into AMP • Different MTEF projections communicated to the sector and MOF • DP’s IT security protocol • Minimizing development activities that are funded through external aid, but do not appear on national accounts
Way Forward • Formal/further clarification of the roles of DPs and Government and other actors. • Upgrade to new version and introduction of new features • Organize trainings for new users and advance users • Expand user base by rolling it out and hosting training sessions for LGAs, NGOs and any other interested parties in the future. • Increase data analytics capacity • Automated linkage with budget management system
