  3. Definition Iron/Iron Ore Iron ores are mixtures of chemical compounds of the iron with rocks The chemical compounds of the iron in the iron ore are essentially ferric oxides, i.e. chemical compounds of the iron with oxygen, or iron carbonates

  4. Iron Ore sources at Lahn area In Germany there are some iron ore occurrences, e.g. in the Lahn Dill area. The ore reserves become world-wide estimated on over 115 billion tons ore. Particularly the Lahn Dill area was shaped by mining industry. From the early Middle Ages to the second half of 20th Century were this still the most important locations in completely Germany.
