  2. Octavio Ocampo Octavio Ocampo was born in Celaya, Guanajuato, Mexico February 28, 1943. He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts, Mexico City and San Francisco Art Institute, and graduated in 1974. After showing early signs of his multifaceted artistic genius, since 1976 he has been dedicated only to painting and sculpture. Ocampo now works and resides in Tepoztlan, north of Mexico City, considered to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. He works primarily in metamorphic style - using a technique of overlapping and juxtaposing realistic and figurative details within the images he creates. Octavio Ocampo is known for his many paintings in which detailed and intricate weaves of images give life to a larger figure. Only at a distance from the painting you can fully appreciate his work, coming to understand the final subject, which make up all the individual details.
