  2. Why I want to be a Lawyer When the time comes, I would like a profession in law or more specifically a lawyer. I have always wanted to be a lawyer because I want to help people and because I think that the job of the lawyer is important.

  3. The Job of a Lawyer Lawyers serve as both advisors and advocates to the general public, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), www.bls.gov. Their primary responsibilities include counseling individuals on their legal rights and obligations and representing individuals in various legal matters. Depending on his or her specialization, a Lawyer may act as a defense attorney defending a client against criminal or civil charges or a prosecuting attorney representing the alleged victim of a criminal act.

  4. Types of Law • Civil Law: Civil laws are those that deal with the enforcement of the rights of individuals (e.g. laws that deal with families or defamation). Civil lawyers argue for the enforcement of the rights of individuals. Civil lawyers specialize with and deal with legal actions and laws of a civil manner which is to say that they don’t usually do criminal or other types of law. • Family law: It deals with laws that relate to marriage, divorce, separation, adoption, guardianship of minors, access to and custody of children, division of property and maintenance payments. Family lawyer mostly argue for the family problems like divorce, marriage and etc…. • Criminal law: The term criminal law, sometimes called penal law, refers to any of various bodies of rules in different jurisdictions whose common characteristic is the potential for unique and often severe impositions as punishment for failure to comply. Criminal lawyers mostly deal with the crime and they argue for it in the court, they make their client saved. • Corporate law: It is also called “company” or “corporations” law. It is the law of the most dominant kind of business enterprise in the modern world. The corporations have corporate lawyers generally for helping the clients make the company, the corporate lawyer mostly deal with the companies and businesses. • Real estate law: It deals with land and property and which related to the land permanently like the construction or the buildings. A real estate lawyer can handle various aspects of land like buying and selling land, agriculture, buildings etc…. • A lawyer who deals with the law, should have completed his bachelor degree in law, the money made by lawyers, depends upon their field and their work.

  5. Requirements to be a Lawyer • To become a lawyer you need to do the following: • You must complete law school to get a Doctor of Jurisprudence . Law school lasts for three years. • According to Education-Portal.com, after earning a J.D., nearly all law-school graduates must take and pass the bar exam for the state or U.S. territory in which they plan to practice. In rare cases, outstanding graduates of Wisconsin law schools may be admitted to the bar without taking the exam.
