  2. Three Gifts (세가지 선물) The Magi brought three gifts; 황금, 유향,몰약 Gold (황금): The gift of gold was often reserved for royalty. Frankincense (유향): When frankincense is burned it gives off a sweet smelling white smoke. The smoke rising from the altar of incense represented the prayers of the people rising to God in heaven. Myrrh (몰약): Myrrh was extremely valuable. The Magi represented this gift to Jesus as a representation that He would one day die.
