  2. Membership development • Total ICE membership = 83,141 (end-March) • Working members has increased to 64,210 • Graduate members up 3% (March 2013 vs March 2012) • Fellows up 1% • Students down 5.0% against target • 9,500 schoolchildren engaged with in March alone across UK

  3. Big Bang Fair65000 visitors, 1250 on ICE stand

  4. Knowledge • Over 10,000 online viewings of ICE events each month • Over 26,000 items of knowledge from ICE website downloaded each month • Plus over 50,000 downloads from the Virtual Library • 11,000 attendees at 280 ICE regional events in March

  5. Leading the infrastructure debate • Significant media coverage on water security issues • 49% increase on 2012 • ICE referenced in House of Commons evidence • State of the Nation: Transport on its way

  6. Infrastructure in the 2013 Budget • £3bn pa additional investment from 2015/16 • Boost to commercial capabilities of Whitehall departments • Continued promotion of guarantee scheme • Investigate options for greater use of independent expert advice in developing long term strategy • Support/incentives for LEPs • Support for CCS, shale gas • Slow progress on new sources of finance and funding
