  2. Task Order Option Periods • TOS is being updated to incorporate task order option period information. This is being done in two phases: • Phase 1: Collect Option Period information • Phase 2: Tie Option Period dates to TOS notifications and reports • Effective immediately, Contracting will be asked to indicate whether the task order contains option periods before an award can take place. • If yes, TOS Next will provide a table to capture base and option period from/to date information. • This change affects all original task order requests and all modifications where the option period question has not been previously answered.

  3. Task Order Option Periods • For original task orders, Contracting must stipulate base and option periods before the package can be submitted from the CS Working workflow step. • When this feature becomes functional on March 4, 2005, there may be some order packages in the following workflow steps where option period information has not been collected. This information can be entered by the Contracting Officer at Awaiting Award or returned to CS Working. • Pre-Award Legal Review • Awaiting Award • For DOI/NBC only, if the order package has been submitted for Internal Quality Review (IQR), the option period question must be answered by the reviewer before submitting to the CO for award or returned to CS Working.

  4. TOS Next Dates Document – CS Working Click on the appropriate radio button to indicate whether the Task Order contains option periods.

  5. Adding Base and Option Periods 1 2 3 3 • If yes, TOS will present a table with a default Base Period • Edit Period Description as necessary • Click on date picker to select period From/To Dates

  6. Adding Base and Option Periods 1 2 3 • If more rows are desired, click the Add a Row button. • Enter period description & From / To dates. • Add rows until all option periods are identified. • When done, save the Dates Document.

  7. One Basic Data Entry Rule The FROM Date must be greater than or equal to the TO date on a preceding row.

  8. Consideration • For modifications, it will be at the Contracting Officer’s discretion whether to enter the entire Task Order Base/Option period history or simply enter current and future option periods.
