  2. Description of Project • J.K. Spruce to Skyline 345 kV Second Circuit • Cost: Approx. $7,750,000 New Line

  3. Project Need • Scheduled in-service in June 2009 • The Spruce to Skyline 345 kVsecond circuit was found to be necessary and economic during work on the 2006 ERCOT Five-Year plan. • ERCOT Independent review confirmed it is economically justified in 2009 with $1.9 M production cost savings compared to an annual carrying cost of $1.3M. • This line was submitted by CPS to allow full output of the new Spruce 2, 750 MW coal power plant in 2010. With this generator in-service, the project will save more than $29 million in production costs in 2010, more than three times of the project cost.

  4. Economic Analysis Total estimated project cost: $7.75 million

  5. ERCOT Support for the Project • The Stakeholder review period for this project was held in May 2007 • There were no comments received on this project • The TAC voted in support of the project recommendation at their August 2, 2007 meeting • ERCOT staff recommends that the Board endorse the need for the project
