Contemplate our condition before Christ. • We were slaves to sin. • We are slaves to whatever we give obedience to (16). • We are weak in our natural selves, in slavery to impurity (19). • We were on the path to death. • Being slaves to sin leads to death (16). • For the wages of sin is death (23).

  3. II. Consider our position because of Christ. • We have been set free from sin. • Being freed from sin does not give us a license to sin (15). • We offer the parts of our body in slavery to righteousness (19). • We are now slaves to God. • We are slaves to obedience (16). • We receive the gift of God (23).

  4. III. Commit to our relationship with Christ. • We are maturing in holiness. • The benefit we reap leads to holiness (22). • The result is eternal life (22). • We have eternal life. • The end of our journey is heaven. • Until then, we have the quality of a life of holiness. • Guilt-free • Consequence-free
