  1. Run Summary August 21 – 22

  2. Activities – last 24 • LHC • Morning: Access for LHCb water leak in muon rack  2 hours up to 11:10 • Atlas and CMS access in the shadow • LHC closed by 11:30 • Problems with software interlock system until 14:30, CMS solenoid lost due to temperature • Fill 2992 for physics, Stable Beams at 16:10 • Lost at 22:50 due to thunderstorm • 6 LHC Sectors + RF + collimators lost, and LHCb and Alice magnets • RF + collimators + experiment magnets OK at midnight • 1h access for QPS at point 1 at 01.00 • Fill 2993 for physics, Stable Beam at 05.50 (ongoing) • LHCb out of fill activities/events • Water leak alarm on A-side M2-M5, real leak in input line in the rack M1A11 (M2/3 Q1) at the junction of column and flexible pipe, fixed by replacement of O-ring  Replacing all O-rings? • TT: Exchanged HV board with broken channel which developed on Saturday • Online Team debugging problem with processing deferred HLT and new mechanism to launch and stop processing of the deferred triggers • Note: Deferred processing stopped only at PHYS_ADJUST now (+ loading COLLISION activity) • Afternoon: EOF_Calib running with HV off to CASTOR (run 126183 – 126192) • EOF calibration tuned up to produce 20 kevts of NZS events

  3. Fill 2992 • Fill 2992: 16:10– 22:53 • Very stable data taking • Histogram reference for TT strips per cluster updated • 19:43: DSS warning in D3B barracks: Dew point warning high. • Dew point went above the warning threshold of 12.0 degrees • 2 degree margin before DSS actions • Dew point at 11.6 degrees 30min later • Some problems in changing over HLT from deferred processing to physics data taking during fill preparation, and the other way around after the fill.

  4. Fill 2993 • Fill 2993: 05.50 - (ongoing) • Situation at 08:50 : • Delivered Luminosity (1/pb): 4.18 • Recorded Luminosity (1/pb): 3.94 • Peak Instantaneous Luminosity (10^30/cm^2/s): 434.5 • Average Instantaneous Luminosity (10^30/cm^2/s): 383.1 • Average mu: 1.67 • Current fill efficiency: 94.04 • BXid sync problem occuredat 08:05?

  5. Data Quality

  6. Standing Issues • EOF calibration destination setting • TELL1 spares – Laurent has contacted Xavier and Guido for the faulty spares

  7. LHC/LHCb Plan • Next: • Physics data taking with1380 bunches • Fill 2993 to be kept up to ~18:00… • If lost before possibly try a 32-bunch fill with a new bunch compression technique in PS  Next Run meeting: Thursday09.15
