  1. Literatures effect on The Chemical Industry By Anthony G-Rillo Corey Cartrette Zack Long &

  2. Silent Spring • Book Summary: The book Silent Spring is about what pesticide does to the environment. It not only looks at an aspect of it being bad for the wildlife, but it looks at the bigger picture that without something we see as insignificant, not even life, itself, can go on. For example, it talks about how there are bees that were killed by pesticide and it wasn’t just the bees that were suffering it said that without them the apple tree’s blossoms could not be pollinated making them fruitless. So, the main reason for this story was to say that pesticide not only kill pests, but it kills larger forms of lifeas well.

  3. This Book Changed The Chemical Industry How? • A few years after the book was published: in 1972 this book got the poison DDT banned. It not only did this, but it kick started the first wave of green consciousness in the 60’s and 70’s. • There, then, became more public understanding about the adverse impact of human health and ecosystems caused by toxic chemicals. • 1972 saw the first international conference on the environment. • The 1980’s community organizations tried to enforce recycling.
