Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, Texas • First Lady:Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Taylor • Lyndon Baines Johnson was born in Stonewall, Texas, on 27th August, 1908. Although both his father and grandfather had served in the Texas legislature, the family were poor. After leaving school he did a variety of menial jobs before studying at the Texas State Teachers College at San Marcos.
