It was founded in Columbus, Ohio in December 1886 by an alliance of craft unions disaffected from the Knights of Labor, a national labor association. • arbitrationIn general, a form of justice where both parties designate a person whose ruling they will accept formally. The technique is to give employees all relevant financial information about the company so they can make better decisions as workers.
