'Competition in the Indian Team is high', reveals - KL Rahul India’s wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul was going through a rough patch in the five-match T20I series against England but the stylish right-hander has returned in his zone with the three-match ODI series against England in Pune. In the first ODI, he smashed a quickfire fifty whereas, in the second ODI, he scored a blistering century as well. He even did well behind the stumps too in the first game. However, Rahul said that he tried to prepare in the best way possible and stated that nothing beats game time as well. “As a batsman I feel being in the middle and playing games is what keeps me in good touch. Having not got as much game time as I would have liked, I mean I won’t say it did not play on my mind, but somehow or the other you have to find a way to be best prepared, be it at training or open net sessions,” Rahul explained. However, Rishabh Pant has returned in the white ball setup and Ishan Kishan also grabbed his chance with both hands, Rahul said that he knows the competition is high and he cannot take his place for granted despite being considered as one of the most prolific performers in the T20 format. “Look when you are a part of this Indian team you know that competition is going to be really, really high and you can never sit back and feel comfortable like you own a position. You will always be challenged and that’s how it is. Our country has got a lot of talent, you will always try to push yourself and keep training harder and working on your game. And when opportunity comes, try to grab it with both hands,” he added. However, Indian Cricket Team has registered a convincing win against England in the final and decider One Day International in Pune on March 28 where a calm Natarajan’s last over sealed the deal despite Sam Curran’s heroics. After winning the four-match Test series 3-1 and five-match Twenty20 International series 3-2, they have won the three-match One Day International series 2-1 as well.
