What is Mechanical Engineering? • Mechanical engineering can be considered one of the most diverse and versatile engineering fields that deals with the study of objects in motion (i.e. machines). In the first place, the aspirants need to clear the GATE exam with a decent score for the eligibility to apply for M.Tech. For aspirants from Maharashtra and the rest of the country: • The candidate should be an Indian National. • The candidate must have obtained a pass certificate in B.Tech from All India Council for Technical Education, or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks (This varies with different categories). • The candidate must have obtained a decent score in the Graduates Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology.

Aspirants who belong to foreign nationality and NRI category: • The candidates need to have passed B.Tech from All India Council for Technical Education, or Central or State Government approved institutions or equivalent, with at least 50% marks. • The candidates must have passed B.Tech as specified in the eligibility criteria for admission to a Postgraduate Degree course of the concerned University for which admission is being sought.

  9. Admission Procedure • The aspirants are advised to follow the rules for M.Tech admission, as published by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State. Some of the basic guidelines are given below. • All the candidates are advised to submit their applications to the college admission authorities. • The Government of Maharashtra will release notifications regarding admissions. • The applications will be considered until the last date. • If delayed, the application will be rejected.
