Over time, however, writing, deleting and rewriting files to the disk leaves empty space in lots of places. The more deleting and rewriting the hard drive does, the more spread out the ducks get. • ­Defragmenting your hard drive is relatively simple, do it when the computer isn't in use. • Instructions: • 1.Open My Computer. • 2. Right-click the local disk volume you wish to defragment. • 3. Click Properties. • 4. On the Tools tab, click Defragment Now. • 5. Click Defragment.
