Chlamydia • Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted disease in the united states. • As many as 1-4 men have no symptoms, but those who do experience symptoms experience burning while urination, discharge from the penis • As for women, most do not have any symptoms, others may have vaginal discharge, or abdominal pain. • Treatment involves anti-biotics.

  3. Syphilis • There are 3 stages of syphilis, along with an inactive latent stage. • Stage 1, formation of an ulcer a (chancre) the chancre develops within 10-90 days. Syphilis is very contagious when the ulcer is present. • The 2nd stage contains flu like symptoms including a soar throat, headaches, skin rash, and hair loss. • The 3rd stage, or the latent stage. Some symptoms would be, going blind, insanity, or even death.

  4. HPV • HPV is caused by genital contact, mostly through vaginal, or anal intercourse, it can also be passed through oral sex. • Most people do not develop symptoms, and 90% of the time the immune system clears HPV within two years. • HPV causes cervical cancer in women, and can also cause warts to grow in the throat for both men and women. • To prevent it, you could get vaccines to prevent against HPV.

  5. Herpes • Genital herpes is a common, highly infectious disease caused by a virus. It is transmitted from one person to another during sexual activity. • Signs of genital herpes tend to develop within three to seven days of skin-to-skin contact with an infected person. • In women, the lesions may be visible outside the vagina,, but they commonly occur inside the vagina where they can cause discomfort or vaginal discharge but cannot be seen except during a doctor's examination. • For men, genital herpes sores usually appear on or around the penis.

  6. Pubic Lice People with pubic lice usually experience itchiness. This can worsen at night when the lice become active and bury their heads inside pubic hair to feed on a person's blood. lice bites can also cause the infested area to become inflamed and discolored. a person may not experience any symptoms for 2 to 4 weeks until the eggs hatch. A Medicated Shampoo for the lice. Use all of the shampoo and wash all clothing and sheets, blankets etc.

  7. Gonorrhea • Female Symptoms • Vaginal discharge • Burning and pain while urinating • Increased urination • Sore throat • Painful sexual intercourse • Severe pain in lower • Fever • Male Symptoms: • Burning and pain while urinating • Increased urinary frequency or urgency • Discharge from the penis • Red or swollen opening of penis • Tender or swollen testicles • Sore throat • Ways you can contract Gonorrhea: • A single shot of ceftriaxone (Rocephin) 125 mg or a single dose of cefixime 400 mg taken by mouth are currently the recommended antibiotic treatment • Azithromycin (Zithromax) 2g in a single dose may be used for people who have severe allergic reactions to ceftriaxone, cefixime, or penicillin.

  8. NGUNonGonococcal Urethritis • Men (urethral infection): Discharge from the penis • Burning or pain when urinating (peeing) • Itching, irritation, or tenderness • Underwear stain • Women (vaginal/urethral infection): The germs that cause NGU in men might cause other infections in women. These might include vaginitis or mucopurulentcervicitis (MPC). Women may also be asymptomatic (have no symptoms). Symptoms of NGU in women can include: Discharge from the vagina • Burning or pain when urinating (peeing) • Abdominal pain or abnormal vaginal bleeding may be an indication that the infection has progressed to Pelvic inflammatory Disease (PID) • Anal or Oral Infections • Anal infection may result in: • - Rectal itching • - Discharge or pain on defecation

PID • The most common symptoms of PID include: • Fever (not always present; may come and go) • Pain or tenderness in the pelvis, lower abdomen, or sometimes the lower back • Vaginal discharge with abnormal color, texture, or smell • Other symptoms that may occur with PID: • Bleeding after intercourse • Chills • Fatigue • Frequent or painful urination • Increased menstrual cramping • Irregular menstrual bleeding or spotting • Lack of appetite • Nausea, with or without vomiting • No menstruation • Painful sexual intercourse
