Distance Education Format for Extension Initiative • Relatively new approach – e-Extension • Requires changes in how we operate • Technology capabilities are not equal across nation • Shifts many costs to end user • Less face time and personal contact • Fear that technological approach will eliminate need for personnel

  8. 2003 Impacts • 35 states have implementation plans with 7 pending • 22 states reported data online • 16,914 individuals participated in one or more programs • 84% increased their financial literacy • 59% planned to utilize practices • 55% planned to develop integrated plan • 72% indicated that the program(s) were valuable to them • 96% would recommend program(s) to others
