  2. 2017 • Continued very slow communication and response from R5 led to much slower PACE activities in 2017 • Status to-date • Approval of one project • April 6, R1-R6 Pace Chairs meeting • Contribution • R5 funding is almost depleted • Pace funding for PACE training was denied • Resorted to apply for IEEE USA for Innovation Summit event

  5. R5 PACE Qualified categories for 20017 1. Career & Employment Activities 2. K-12 STEM Activities 3. Student Professional Activities 4. Young Professional Activities 5. Government Activities • Each program has a coordinator • Typically, R5 refunds 50% for a normal< $500 projects

Science in a Box • Student Professional Activities • Student Activities (e.g. Robotics) • Young Professional • YP Networking/SxSW, IEEE Day, …. • Government Activities • Congressional

Society/PACE/STEM Activities • Schools – inspire, Collaborate and prepare future engineers • Health Science Advisory Board – WHS Academies, Round Rock, Texas • Academy school: Lead Mrs. Lucy Sanchez • Projects: Business & Industry, Health Science, Public Service, STEM, Visual Performing Art • Seeking Participation & endorsement from partners • Target audience: Academy Lead, Student Ambassadors, Graduating Classes • IEEE Leader: Chapter chair, Sr. Member, Sr. Member candidate, PACE Chair • Selected project: Academy of Health and Science Board • Time Frame: School year • Potential IEEE Participation and Activities (F. Behmann): • IEEE Sponsor Breakfast for Board meeting and generate awareness about IEEE • Participate & support Quarterly Board meetings, contribute with ideas that improve learning and hands-on activities • Reverse Shadow visit • IEEE EMBS Chapter Invites students, teachers and partners to our EMBS monthly meetings and guest speaker • Facilitate/Sponsor “Catch the dream – Career & College Ready” • IEEE Biotech Austin Smart City Tools/hands on projects to accelerate learning • Speaking • Support & facilitate Job Shadow Day • Students participate as volunteers for IEEE summit events & Community fairs • Participate & Contribute at year School Partner Recognition Program Academy Leader, Student Ambassadors
