  3. Oceania • Oceania (sometimes Oceanica) is a geographical, and often geopolitical, region consisting of numerous lands—mostly islands in the Pacific Ocean and vicinity • the term "Oceania" was coined in 1831 by French explorer Dumont d'Urville.

  4. Information • Area: 7.7 million km • Population: 18 088 000 • Population density: 2ob/Km The highest point is Mt.Kosciusko (2.230 m).

  7. Climate Low islands are at the mercy of the winds, which can bring enough rain to create lush forests on some islands while leaving others dry wastelands.
