A description of the periodic event: • One of the periodic events that we did in order to make a wave was to walk a certain distance and measure each step. This event was made by first choosing a certain distance to wake from point to point in this case we decided to make it a distance of 15 feet, then one person would take normal steps stopping at each step, then another person would have to measure the distance in cm from the tip of the foot to the other tip of the other foot with a one meter measuring stick, finally meanwhile a third person would be taking the time each step took which in this case was 1 or less second.Thiswassomethingthatwedidoverandoveragain, andourstepswerealldifferentfromeachoneandhad a differentmeasurment.
ExplanationoftheGraph: • 1. Rest position: the rest position in our graph is the representation of when the foot is half way in the air right between the trough and the crest. It is exactly the middle between the lowest part of the step and the highest. • 2. Crest: The crest in our graph is the representation of when the foot is at the highest part of the step, this shows where is the point of maximum reach of the foot. • 3. Trough: The trough in our graph is the representation of the lowest point of the step taken by the foot, this being when the foot is touching the ground completely and reaching its lowest point. • 4. Amplitude: The amplitude in our graph is the representation of the measurement the foot is either from the rest to crest or from the rest to trough. In the graph it shows the diverse measurements of amplitude that each step had.
Explanationofthecalculation: • 1. Speed: We found the speed in our wave by following the formula • S=WxF • Then by replacing the data with the wavelength in the wave and the frequency of the wave • S= 0.015mx1Hz • Which gave a result of • S= 0.015 m/s
Explanationofthecalculation: • 2. wavelength: in our graph we calculate or found the wavelength by measuring the distance in cm from crest to crest with a result of 1.5 cm , which then we changed to meter by dividing which gave us an answer of 0.015 • 3. Frequency: we measured or calculated the frequency in our graph by following its formula: • F=#waves/time • Then we replaced the data with the number of waves and its time • F=3waves/3seconds • Then we got our answer • F= 1Hz
