  2. TASK ??????? • prepare a nutritious breakfast meal ------ spending Rs. 100 only !! Tip: Picking foods with protein, carbohydrates, and fiber is an easy way to get a nutritious breakfast.

  3. What is the difference between Portions and Servings? • A "portion" is the amount of a specific food you choose to eat for dinner, snack, or other eating occasion. • Portions, of course can be bigger or smaller than the recommended food servings.

  4. A "serving" is a unit of measure used to describe the amount of food recommended from each food group. • It is the amount of food listed on the Nutrition Facts panel on packaged food or the amount of food recommended in the Food or Dietary Guidelines for citizens. For example, 6-11 servings of whole grains are recommended daily. A recommended serving of whole grains would be 1 slice of bread or 1/2 cup of rice or pasta. 

  5. Milk or juice –Included or Not ? • Packaged or Unpackaged? • Cereals or any carbscontaining product • Fruits??? • Did you checked the Nutrition Facts Label before buying the food product, if YES then why? • Serving or portion size?

  8. Today's 16 ounce cup of coffee has350 calories. This is 305 calories more than a cup of coffee 20 years ago. Keep in mind that many of today's coffee drinks have a lot of added sugar, milk and syrup which increase the calories. Tip: It is best to stick with plain coffee and add your own milk and sweetener or ask for sugar free syrup.

  9. Now guess how long you will have to walk in order to burn those extra 305 calories?* • 2 hours and 15 minutes  • 1 hour and 20 minutes  • 3 hours *Based on a 130-pound person.

  10. If you walk approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, you will burn 305 calories* *Based on a 130-pound person.

  12. Today's 6-inch bagel has 350 calories. This is 210 more calories than a 3-inch bagel 20 years ago.

  13. Now guess how long you will have to rake leaves in order to burn those extra calories?* • 1 hour and 30 minutes  • 50 minutes  • 2 hours *Based on a 130-pound person.

  14. If you rake leaves for 50 minutes you will burn approximately 210 calories.* *Based on a 130-pound person.

  15. 590 calories • This is 257 more calories than a portion 20 years ago.

  16. Now guess how long you will have to lift weights in order to burn those extra calories?* • 1 hour  • 1 hour 30 minutes  • 30 minutes 1 hour and 30 minutes *Based on a 130-pound person.
